The South Down Shores Home & Garden Club is a group of South Down and Long Bay residents who have an interest in gardening, landscaping, home décor, home design trends, crafts...but most of all like to have fun. The club’s mission is to participate in enhancing the beauty of the common areas of the communities and villages. The club meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm., at the South Down Beach House during the months of April through December. A variety of programs are offered at our monthly meetings. In June we have our annual Business Meeting where we approve the budget, elect officers, and determine dues. In December we hold our annual Christmas party with Yankee Swap, which is always fun.
We also have community outreaches through some of our committees. Our Welcoming Committee provides Welcome Bags with community and area info to new owners. This outreach has also attracted several new Home & Garden Club members. Our Sunshine Committee sends cards to ill or bereaved members of the club and/or family, and also notifies members who may want to send cards. And, through our Giving Pail collection, a Holiday Season donation is made to local charities.
We currently have 53 members. The annual dues are $20.00 and are payable no later than May 1st. We are happy to take New Members at any time. There may also be a small cost share for some programs. When that is deemed necessary, members will be notified in advance. Below is a list of programs planned for 2017. Click here for a summary of 2017 programs.
